Master Locksmiths Association
The Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) is an independent professional body which is recognised and respected as the peak organisation for locksmithing professionals in the Pacific region.
The MLA has approximately 1,000 members providing a wide range of locksmithing and security services throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific region and South East Asia.
In addition to business and individuals engaged in locksmithing activities, our membership also includes manufacturers and distributors of security products, students and others engaged in relevant areas of the security industry.
What does the Master Locksmiths Association do?
Promote the industry & service members
The Association’s primary role is to promote the viewpoints and interests of the industry and to provide services to members in a broad range of areas including; training & professional development, marketing and promotion, OH & S, industrial relations, building codes and standards, product development and international relations.
Security Industry Compliance
Locksmiths in Australia and New Zealand are required to comply with legislation and regulations relating to security industry licensing. In several states, locksmiths and security providers require membership of an approved Security Industry Association in order to satisfy their security licensing obligations.
The MLA is recognised as an approved Security Industry Association.
The MLA in association with the industries key manufacturers design and distribute restricted keying systems. These MLA patented high security locking systems are designed and manufactured in Australia to meet Australian Standards and market conditions.
These systems are exclusive to Master Locksmith Association members.
